OK, I really don't like Raoul, but I thought I had better include him. BUT, it IS going to be a bare minimal.
OK, so I know this a Raoul, but which one I'm not sure! If you do, please let me know!
Raoul first met Christine when they were children, but they lost touch and later found each other at Paris Opera House. During the final scene of the musical, the Phantom tells Christine she must choose: Raoul lives and she must stay with the Phantom OR Raoul dies and she goes free. Christine decides to let Raoul go free, despite the fact he pleads with her:
For pity's sake,
Christine, say no!
Don't throw your life
away for my sake...
The Phantom eventually lets them both go and they are apparently married. The Phantom may or may not have died of a broken heart, but Raoul did shoot him, which was the probable cause of his death in the novel.
