The Phantom

The Phantom is known by many names: Erik, Opera-Ghost, The Angel of Music. To me, he is Erik and I first met him on the 18th July 2000 in the form of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical. Erik took my heart and my soul and since then has become a constant source of inspiration, my muse in fact!

Erik is probably best known through the musical and has touched the lives of many, many people.

The above picture shows Michael Crawford as the Phantom. He was the first person to play the Phantom in Lloyd Webber's musical.

The Phantom, according to Leroux's novel was born deformed, yet proved he is a genius in his own right. He can compose music; devise tricks and optical illusions; etc, etc, etc. But most of all, he can sing. His voice is unlike anyone elses and is a beautiful thing to listen to. Unfortunately, he decided to bestow his voice and heart on a certain Christine Daaé, who later rejected him in favour of Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny.
